Haitians Cry

An article from the New York Times this week highlights the desperation in the tent cities: Click here to read.

  1. Such a heart-breaking article. I wish there was something I could do to help. I feel like giving money is not enough, nor do I have a lot of extra money to give.

  2. It's tough. Ultimately change has to come from within. I've met a few wonderful Haitians lately eager to make change within their own country, so that gives me hope. And also I'm hoping to help a Haitian get the education they need to make change, so that helps too. But when you get down to it, the problems are just so huge. It's overwhelming. As someone not dealing with those issues, I feel a huge pressure every day to help but often feel completely useless. One day at a time I suppose :)
    Thanks for reading Alison!

  3. Great advice! So glad the scholarship for a Haitian student got started. I can't wait to hear how things go in the future. No problem! I really enjoy reading your blog! :o)
